“What Purity Means…” Contest
Thanks to all our followers on Twitter. We love reading your messages & your blog posts about what purity means to you. I was so blessed to read them. I am so thankful that you would share your hearts with us. It sounds like even with all the pressure from soceity, you all know that the decision for abstinence is YOURS. We’ve heard about some of the “backlash” from your peers about your choice to wear a purity ring. All I can say is, STAY STRONG. Even though I’ve been out of high school for a while (okay, for a long while!) I remember feeling that peer pressure–feeling like you want to fit in and be accepted. But the reality is; these school years are short–you probably won’t remain in contact with most people you go to school with; but the consequences of having sex before marriage can stay with you forever. So in short; do what’s best for you, not them.
We always talk a lot about abstinence, but please remember that “purity” is more than physical. The concept of “purity” should effect every part of lives. Emotional purity is attained by guarding your heart. Everyone always says “Follow your heart” but sometimes are hearts can be deceitful and lead us in the wrong direction.
Also please remember that just making this commitment isn’t enough-You will need support from God, your family, your church, and hopefully your friends. You need someone to keep you accountable. Because I’m a mom, I can tell you that your mom DOES want to talk to you about this–even if it’s akward or uncomfortable. Do you need some advice on how to approach your mom or dad? Send us a message; we’d be happy to help you.
Currently the “random winner” contest is going on Twitter. Next winner will be selected on Wednesday 9/16
Thank you again to all who entered, messaged, emailed, etc.
