we had it engraved - the engraving was not as striking as one might have hoped but overall seems to be a reasonable purchase. The ring has quite a bit of substance and isn't as dainty as I had envisioned - could pass for a unisex ring. The writing on the inside is repeated so it is present on the entire inner surface of the ring. (Posted on 12/19/11)
